What is
SAFE 10?

SAFE 10 is a habit-building challenge in the Know Your Ride - SAFE 10 app.

Eligible rides can earn Ride Credits. Every 10 Ride Credits completes one SAFE 10 and earns a SAFE 10 achievement. SAFE 10 repeats — after one completion, your next eligible Ride Credit begins progress toward your next SAFE 10. When a sponsor campaign is active, a completed SAFE 10 may also unlock an available reward.

Keep your phone with you, securely stowed in a pocket, bag, or secure holder, and do not hold or interact with it while riding.

  • Up to 3 Ride Credits can be earned per day.
  • 10 Ride Credits = 1 SAFE 10 achievement.
  • Rewards depend on an active campaign, eligibility, verification, and availability.

What earns a SAFE 10 Ride Credit?

  • Use a signed-in account with current approved consent.
  • Follow your selected speed goal.
  • Save a tracked ride summary in the app with no route points stored.
  • GPS and ride data must be strong enough for the app to verify the ride.
  • Before riding, wait until the Active Ride screen shows “Location active.”
  • Ride at least 0.5 miles and at least 5 minutes.
  • This page focuses on progress. Rides that do not meet the requirements are not included in SAFE 10 totals.

Before you ride

Wait until GPS Status shows “Location active.” Keep Location Services on during the ride. If your phone will be locked or the app will run in the background, allow background location access in your device settings.

Know Your Ride uses location to verify your active ride. Your exact route is not saved, and no route points are stored in your saved ride summary.

How progress works

Understanding the difference between eligible rides, Ride Credits, and SAFE 10 completions.

  1. Total eligible rides

    Counts every eligible ride you complete.

  2. SAFE 10 Ride Credits

    Up to 3 eligible rides per day count toward SAFE 10.

  3. SAFE 10 completed

    Every 10 Ride Credits earns one SAFE 10 achievement.

  4. Next SAFE 10

    After one completion, the next eligible ride starts progress toward your next SAFE 10.

SAFE 10 is about habits — rewards are a bonus.

  • Featured Community Reward Partner offers are available during the September 7–13 Safety Awareness Week campaign.
  • SAFE 10 continues beyond Awareness Week. Riders can keep earning Ride Credits and completing SAFE 10 achievements throughout the year, even when no sponsored reward is active.
  • More community reward campaigns may be introduced as Know Your Ride grows.
  • Parents and caregivers can also create their own positive incentives at home to celebrate safer riding habits.

SAFE 10 continues after Awareness Week. Riders can keep earning Ride Credits and completing SAFE 10 achievements even when no sponsored reward campaign is active.

    Download Apple’s TestFlight app from the App Store.

  2. Scan the SAFE 10 QR code

    Scan the QR code below or open the SAFE 10 link.

  3. Install SAFE 10

    Install Know Your Ride - SAFE 10 through TestFlight.

Android

  1. Request a SAFE 10 App Invite

    Scan the Android QR code and complete the short access form.

  2. Provide your Google Account email

    Enter the email associated with the Google Account you use in the Google Play Store on your Android device.

  3. Wait for your SAFE 10 link

    Once your access is ready, Know Your Ride will send the Google Play SAFE 10 link to the email address you provided.

  4. Install SAFE 10

    Open the link using the same Google Account and install Know Your Ride - SAFE 10 through Google Play.
